I had been out of the navy for several years and was semi successful after. However, dealing with my mental health and Covid-19, any misstep could have been a catastrophe. I’ve had a history of homelessness and wasn’t going back. After reaching out to so many different service’s claiming to help veterans, I kept getting shown the door. I was put in contact with Marcus and after 5 minutes of hearing my story, Marcus sent over a check the next day preventing me from being homeless. A 5-minute phone call changed the course of my life. I pray and hope that Marcus and Veterans 5-9 can continue their good mission of actually helping veterans. No service member should sleep on the streets regardless of anything. Thank you guys.
Bless the people at Veterans 5-9 and Marcus for all they did for me. They were beyond helpful after getting kicked out of our old space. he did not leave me and my girlfriend high and dry after we got our apartment but instead he helped me find a place of employment and checking up on us throughout the process. Thank you Marcus for helping us get into our apartment and for going the extra length in all that happened. I am forever indebt to you sir.
Hello, my name is Betty and I served in the U.S. Navy. Recently my family and I have been experiencing homelessness and were on the verge of living on the streets. I went to a few agencies who referred us to Veterans 5-9. We spent our last 80 dollars on a hotel room and needed help getting through the week. Veterans 5-9 relocated us to a safer area, assisted with job referrals and provided us a food card. They were the only agency that was there for us when we were in dire need of help. Veterans 5-9 we can’t thank them enough for their selflessness.
Thanks so much for your patience. It is a wonderful feeling knowing there are some people that have a good heart like you and would go the extra mile for you when you didn’t have to. You, and management have gone way beyond being nice, and understanding to assist me catching up on my rent. Without it, me and my son would be getting evicted. I will definitely make plans to be sure to save, and never be put in this situation again. I sincerely can’t say thank you enough for everything. I think tonight will actually be able to get a good night sleep.
My name is Josh and I served in the United States Navy. During my military transition me and my family fell on hard times financially. Veterans 5-9 was there to answer the call and helped make a critical mortgage payment. No matter what rank you are, financial struggles are real and can hit anyone at anytime. Not that other resources couldn’t help, however the time constraints associated didn’t fit my situation. Veterans 5-9 fast and easy process was simple. Thank you so much. Hooyah Bravo Zulu.
My name is Jesse and I was previously evicted from my apartment. Unfortunately, I was up against the clock and the apartment was on the verge of throwing my things away. My life was in that apartment including military medals that are very important to me. Due to it being a holiday weekend, I thought no one was available to help and all my things would be lost. Marcus and Veterans 5-9 immediately assisted me without hesitation. All of my belongings are now in a safe place thanks to Veterans 5-9. This will be the second time a MARINE HAS SAVED MY ASS!
Me and Tank were in need of assistance. Marcus at Veterans 5-9 came through in a huge way to help with Tanks boarding while we were getting into an apartment. They are an amazing organization!
My family and I needed immediate emergency assistance. I applied for the program and received an email, and text message in less than 24 hours from Marcus at Veterans 5-9. We were assisted and our problem was solved in less than an hour after I spoke to Marcus. My family and I are eternally grateful for everything this organization did to help us in our dire time of need. We could not be more thankful and appreciative for the immediate help we received from this organization.
I would like to thank Veterans 5-9 for all of their help over the past few years. I was recommended to this program from my unit and they have been such a huge help ever since. With being a full-time student and my mother getting injured on the job and having to be out of work, bills started piling up. Life happend but Marcus was there to help and be of great assistance to make sure my mother and I had a roof to keep over our head. Thank you Veterans 5-9 for everything.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for assisting me in keeping a roof over my children and I head. Your generous gift helped me keep my peace of mind through my transition from homeless to housing. I really appreciate what you’re doing and how your agency helps veterans gain their dignity back.
Twenty hours and twenty minutes and Marcus made it happen, he got it done! 3 weeks of imminent fear of being evicted gone in 20 hours and 20 minutes! Gone! This man, this Marine is a God send. This Marine is a exemplary member of and representative of himself, his Corps, his Country and his God. He is an angel amongst us. 20 hours and 20 minutes, he said he’d do it and he got it done. Thank you Marcus and thank you community I will forever be indebted to you…. God Bless. Sean M. Link U.S. Army M1A1 tanker Veteran
Marcus Foerster is a lifesaver! I was not going to make rent due to starting over in life and frantically searched for weeks to find support or help of some kind. Being referred to Veterans 5-9 was definitely God because two phone calls later and my rent was paid. A weight lifted off my shoulders! So thankful for what Marcus is doing for the community!
Hello, my name is Jeff Chatman I’m a United States, Air Force, veteran. Today, this young man and his company were kind enough to help me get caught up on my rent. Where as many other places I called they didn’t want to help me. Veterans 5-9 went out of their way to help me this morning and for that I’m very grateful. Thank you all and have a blessed day especially you Marcus
Hi I’m Francis Dominic Dipatri. I’m an Army veteran served Honorable 1986 to 1990. I spent most of my time over in Bamberg Germany during the cold War when East and West were divided. I was a 12b Combat Engineer 82 nd Engineers. Thank you Marcus for helping me.
Veterans 5-9 gave the help that I needed to make sure I had a roof over my head when I lost my job. Marcus was so helpful, giving me different resources and contacts. Not only to find a new job, but to keep my apartment paid for while I searched. I cannot express how grateful I am for the help I was given.
Hello. I am a US Marine SSgt. I went to another city to go to truck driving school. This organization helped me with a place to stay for most of my schooling. I was very grateful for the help they gave me. Had they not helped, I would have had to sleep in my vehicle for weeks. So it really helped me out. Thank you very much. Brian S. Heady former Staff Sergeant USMC
Veterans 5-9 took care of three Soldiers when there was an operational delay in pay for our Guardsman who went on a mission. Veterans 5-9 took care of them by providing them assistance with rent and basic needs, such as groceries and fuel. The type of care our Soldiers received was matched with respect, efficiency, and thoroughness. There was a great relief for them when they realized someone could help them. As a program manager, I’m very grateful to have organizations like Veterans 5-9 for referral in emergency situations. As a community, we benefit from our military being taken care of. Thank you, Veterans 5-9!
